More mobile home rehab that looks doable

The RFID chip stuff is freaky though.

Crazy, amazing the things they can do on these mobiles. Great video!

Yes, this was a good video, but the only disturbing thing was the use of the RFID to enter the house. Was that really necessary? It seem like a real strange way to open a door and contrary to the great ideas you present in you video.

  5. Great video- made me feel validated again after getting little positive encouragement for my hope to rehab a 1965 singlewide with a nice room built on here in Vermont. Between banks not financing older mh's and builders not considering them worth the salvage, and the extra insulation that I'd want to add on to make the place super energy efficient my idea hasn't been looking viable. But here in Vermont we live in a state full of these older mh's, housing and property taxes are completely unaffordable for many, mortgages are harder than ever to qualify for and everyone professes to be so interested in green living and building - I still find it curious that not more people like you and me are thinking like this and making it work. I could be on the cutting edge! I did learn in my research that one legitimate problem in these old mh's is the possibility that the house is wired with aluminum covered wire- apparently such a big problem to fix that it becomes cost prohibitive - so I'm curious to know whether your mh had that type of wiring. Best of luck in all your endeavors, and do another video if you've put a new exterior on the place.

  6. I'm a little worried about those railroad ties - aren't they soaked in creosote?

I really like your ideals and approach. You both have to be into it though, as I know my partner would baulk at most things you are doing. I like the RFID keyless entry to your abode. It think it would be good for the 70's rancher that we are contemplating renovating, especially for those days when your arms a full of bags and groceries. I look forward to finding out more about your endeavours.

  9. Wow, if someone has the ambition and obviously some construction ability, anything is possible. I guess what they had here was time to devote and great ideas to execute. It invokes a lot of ideas how to operate a budget.
